Desert Lake Gardens & Mill St. Café

Our gardens, owned by Rick and Pat Dawson, and managed by Rick and son Adam, produce a wide variety of organic vegetables – salad greens and lettuce, herbs, tomatoes, English cucumbers, Japanese eggplant, peppers,  pole beans, kale, chard, bok choi, turnip, cabbage, and more.  We also have a large shiitake mushroom operation; our shiitake are grown outdoors on oak logs.


As well we raise a few pigs and meat chickens, feeding them organic grains and scraps from the gardens and our Café.


Our customers place an order on our website at www.desertlakegardens.com, which is delivered weekly right to our customers’ homes.  As well as our own garden produce, we offer products from other local producers (meat, cheese and more), as well as an ever growing selection of soups, meals, pestos and more prepared with our own local ingredients in our Mill Street kitchen.


On the Open Farms Day people can get a tour through our gardens and shiitake laying yard.  We’ll have some snacks to sample.
